Whew! Man, what a work weekend that was my people. It was that lethal combination of steady calls and each one was pure evil. I don’t think I had one which didn’t require running a bunch of SQL scripts against the database along with applying corrections. Each call took just enough time to fix to let the next come in, just long enough to make sure I didn’t catch a break or my breath. It was the kind of work weekend where you end up talking with Jack Daniels and his buddy Coca-Cola for a bit to get rid of all the pent up stress.
Yet I made it through and now I have my downtime to look forward to. I’m going to get in some much needed work on the new book and chores round the house. You know what they say, no rest for the wicked. I’ll also try to stay safe with all this crazy weather round here. I’ve grown up in the South; with the exception of my Navy tour I lived my whole life here. You would think I’d have gotten used to weather pattern here at the end of summer. It’s hot all day, from 8 AM to 3 PM, when the thunderstorms move in and let loose. Nothing like house shaking from a blast of thunder or watching the transformer blow out on the street after it gets hit by lightning, and this seems to happen every day here in August. You can set your watch by it I swear…I know I have. You arrange your schedule around the weather because let’s face it, who wants to try and bring in a handful of grocery bags while its pouring buckets down on you. I did it once and I learned my lesson, it took a day for my bread to dry out and even then it looked like hell.
Oh well, I guess I wasted enough of your time. I’ll see everyone later, till then keep safe and keep spreading the good word that is R Kane.
