Good evening my people, my followers, and those who just happened to stumble by this place and decided to check it out. To those, I’d like to introduce myself. I am R Kane, an independent author with a quirky, if not downright eccentric steak. I hope you hang out a bit, take a nice long look around, and then keep on coming back to check out what’s new.
Like this week, I have been hard at work doing a second round of proofing/editing on my book ‘The Man in the Black Hat’. Since my new work is a continuation of this story, I wanted to go back and see if I can correct some issues, both the embarrassingly glaring and the small subtle ones. I haven’t many of the first, but I have come across a few of the second type. I feel a little sheepish for putting out a work with some of the problems I’ve found, but then again, I am doing this by myself and giving it my all which I hope amounts to something. I should be done here soon and I’ll have both uploaded. I know it won’t mean much to those who already purchased the first edition of MIBM, but maybe it will be an improvement to those who are coming into the fold…and maybe I can do something to help out those who purchased the first version.
And with total shock, I learned where we lost another fabulous singer this week, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Man, it saddens me to no end to find out his passing, from an apparent suicide, and so soon after losing Chris Cornell. They were two great musicians with such distinctive voices that you knew instantly who they were just seconds after listening to them. Both inspired me and my writing, motivated and revealed parts of my voice I never knew existed. Yes, I have their music on my iTouch, and I can listen to them any time I want, need to, but it devastates me that I’ll never hear anything new from either. And that my people, that’s the part which is so hard to face.
Oh well, it’s time to go and see what kind of trouble I can get into. My workday starts early in the morning, but I hope everyone has a great weekend. I hope you get to spend time with the family, loved ones, as you run all those errands we all tend to. And, as always, spread the good word that is R Kane.
See you all next week…
